Today on the planet of Hapes of the Hapes Consortium, the High Prince James Stratus, Supreme Ruler of the Imperial Republic, crowned a new Queen Mother to rule over the Class-B member state. The High Prince and new Queen Mother affirmed the new alliance and treaty between the Consortium and the Imperial Republic and the Queen Mother swore an oath of allegience as part of her oath of office. Many esteemed guests including the former Dowager Empress and Queen Mother of Hapes Layha Solo-Centurion were present.
Also in news today the High Prince promoted Diandra Devin to the position of Office Manager of His Majesty's Personal Staff. She was also recently appointed the Public Relations Director for the House Stratus. - Imperial News Grid - Promotions
The news is dull and boring as usual. Stacy Stratford is on vacation and thus there is another woman in her place on the evening news. She is a pretty woman, with dark hair and bright blue eyes. She also seems to be at least half Zeltron, judging by the almost hot pink pigmentation in her skin.
She smiles sweetly at the camera as it zooms in on her. She shuffles a few papers, looks down for a moment, and then begins to read.
"Well, there's not much to report tonight," she says truthfully.
"Most of you will remember the battle that occurred on Rishi a few months ago when the army went to investigate an emergency distress signal. Both General Cognatus and 1st Lieutenant Jared Quinn were there and were the first on the ground.
"The High Prince held a ceremony to honor them just hours ago. General Cognatus was promoted to Command General for his bravery, heroism, and undying loyalty to the throne.
"1st Lieutenant Quinn, for his bravery and heroism on the battle field was awarded the Republic Silver Star. He was also promoted to Major.
"By the way, ladies, as I understand it, both men are very single and very available."
She grins at the camera in a flirtatious way, shuffles her papers again, and continues.
"In other news, Grand Admiral Overmind is on a long vacation. As such, Command General Cognatus is the acting Minister of Defense until Grand Admiral Overmind's return.

BREAKING NEWS flashes a crossed the HoloNet and fades to show Kayla Katorain for the Galactic News Network. "Good evening we have just received an update on the riot taking place at the Kuat Drive Yards. At present we are unable to get a hold of our correspondent Zefel, but we are receiving from the IRSB is that the sector is off limits as they try to bring the situation in to control. We have received unconfirmed reports of 15 fatalities and 60 seriously wounded. No word on how soon the situation will be under control only that the IRSB is currently working on the situation. As for the Corellian Engineering Corporation strike there has been no violence as a result as we had thought earlier. From what we have gathered the strike is over the loss of medical benefits for the workers families. The workers refuse to go back to work until the situation is resolved. BREAKING NEWS flashes a crossed the HoloNet and fades to show Kayla Katorain for the Galactic News Network. "Good evening we have just received an update on the riots taking place at the Kuat Drive Yards. Our correspondent Zefel is at the scene and has more on the story."
The camera switches to the Kuat Drive Yards where Zefel a gray skinned humanoid with glowing blue eyes takes over. "Thank you Kayla, I'm here with one of the workers now. He name is Kay'lor Keltar and he tells me he is the union leader for Kuat Drive Yards. So Kay'lor what can you tell me of the current situation?" The camera panes over to Kay'lor a tall muscular human about 6ft high wearing dark blue coveralls and cap, that gave him an aura of authority. "Well Zefel it's like this we walked into work today and 150 of us fired and the rest of us were told that we should expect a decrease of ¼ our regular pay. As you can imagine it has not gone over to well. That's why we went on strike; unfortunately some of the boys have gotten a little out of hand." In the background you see workers holding signs and hear them shouting protests. Then a fight breaks out between an officer and some of the workers. The reporter yelp in surprise as the Union leader gets knocked into the camera and the feed goes dead.
The camera view returns to a concerned looking Kayla who recovers enough to wrap up the report. "There you have it the situation is quite serious and we hope it can be settled soon. The Screen on the HoloNet flashes BREAKING NEW and switches to a human female reporter with long blond hair and green-gray eyes. "Good Evening this just in a riot has broken out over a labor dispute at two of the major Ship building yards. They are the Kuat Drive Yards and the Corellian Engineering Corporation. The apparent cause of the disputes is unclear at this time but we will keep you apprised of any new information as we get it. So far there has been only 50 injured as a result of the rioting and Security Forces are hard pressed to keep the situation under control. On behalf of the High Prince, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Josefus Alastar Quick, a long-time career veteran of the Ministry of State and former Supreme Chancellor, to the position of Supreme Chancellor and Minister of State of the Imperial Republic. In this reappearance role, Supreme Chancellor Quick will be responsible for the administration of the Senate, as well as directing the foreign policy positions and initiatives of the Ministry of State. We want to wish a warm welcome back to the Supreme Chancellor.

High Minister of COMPNOR - Imperial News Grid - Royal Coronation on Hapes
The evening news is once again being turned on on holovisions across the galaxy. The ever-cheerful Stacy Stratford and her less-than-cheerful colleague are present, though the two are rarely seen without the other. Some even consider them to be joined at the hip. The bubbly blond smiles at the camera and her colleague scowls.
They go through the motions of reporting several happenings on other planets. Most of it is boring or downright cringe-worthy. Earthquakes here, drug busts there; like every other news channel, the evening news liked to report on things often considered as sensations. They save the best for last, however.
"We have it on good authority," Stacy says, grinning at the camera. "That the High Prince and the Executor will be on Hapes today for a royal coronation. The Prince will choose the next Queen Mother for Hapes."
Her colleague pulls a sour face for a moment before he attempts to smile. "We here at the station have heard that he will appoint one Phoenix Katarn-Solo to the throne."
Stacy nods, "Indeed, Perceval. She is, from our understanding quite young. We wish her best of luck." - Imperial News Grid - Spring Wedding
It's time for the evening news in many parts of the galaxy. As always, many citizens of the Imperial Republic are tuning in to watch and find out what's going on with the rest of the known universe. The news airs without much change from the news the day before.
Stacy Stratford and her co-workers discuss several issues in a new thing they call, "Debate Hour". After which, the blond woman smiles at the camera and almost flirtatiously bats her lashes. She leans forwards slightly, her hands folded on top of her desk.
"Well, good people of the Imperial Republic," she says, still smiling. "The news is almost over, and we are about to bid you goodbye. But first, we have a very important announcement."
She turns, facing another camera, still wearing that same smile. "We here at the station are ecstatic to announce that Princess Nicole Stratus and Commander Scott McFayden are to be married!"
"The ceremony will take place at the Royal Palace on Kuat. It will take place at the end of March, though we haven't heard the exact date just yet. Nor has it been confirmed if this will be a private ceremony or not; as soon as we know, we here at the channel will let you know. We do hope that the Royal Family will be kind enough to share in their happiness and let us film it."

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Selina Vadcasta, to the position of State Security Advisor, His Majesty's Personal Staff. She will serve as the Chief Advisor to the High Prince on National Security Issues and Matters, as well as consultation on Foreign Security policies. And she will also serve as the Vice Chairman of the Galactic Security Council. Selina is uniquely qualified to serve in this role with her vast experience in Naboo planetary affairs, including: politics, security affairs, and government administration.

High Minister of COMPNOR - Imperial News Grid - Balle Royale Creates Excitement Over Possible Changes
The people of the Imperial Republic flip on their holoscreens across the galaxy. It is the very end of the year and it is time for the most anticipated event of any young high class lady's season: the Balle Royale, held at His Majesty's palace on Coruscant. Anybody who is anybody has been invited.
It is the evening of the big shindig, and the newscasters excitedly announce that they will be focusing mainly on the ball itself this evening. The scene is set just outside the palace where many beautiful young ladies and handsome young men, high class and military alike are arriving. The cameras can only catch glimpses of the splendor inside, but it is all that the people at home need to be satisfied or to make them envious.
A young woman stands before the camera, dressed in a slinky, red off-the-shoulder gown and a faux fur stole over her shoulders. Her blond hair is done up into an elegant twist; her make-up is a little on the heavy side, but she is still a rather pretty woman. It would probably occur to most now that the woman is a newscaster, and none other than Stacy Stratford herself!
The blond grins at the camera and motions to the scene behind her.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the galaxy, behind me is the biggest party of the year: the Balle Royale! Everyone who is anyone is expected to be here. I'm Stacy Stratford, and I'm here to give you all the juicy details on the ball.
"People, the air here is ripe with festivity and romance! Everyone is arriving in couples!" Stacy Stratford points out several very nice couples, some senators, some military personnel. She turns back to the camera after mentioning the names of the couples and how long they've been together, or if it's a complete and total scandal that the couple is there together. After several minutes of that, she beams again and speaks.
"The grapevine has it that His Royal Majesty, High Prince Stratus will be giving a speech sometime tonight. We have yet to confirm whether it will be before or after dinner; we hope to find out soon. We're all very excited here and anxious to hear what His Majesty has to say.
"It has been reported that his speech will contain some big announcements. We all know what they are, folks, but we're not going to spoil the surprise for you at home! Stick around, ladies and gentlemen! This night's going to be a blast! Don't forget to tune back with us after the ball for a summary of events and any important announcements you may need or want to know. We'll return to you after this short message from our sponsors..."
The glamorous scene fades and is replaced by a commercial for some sort of skin care product. What sort of announcements would His Majesty be making was the question that the people of the Imperial Republic posed to themselves.
